To Maximilian Harden, sending corrections of an article by Ernst Horneffer about the Nietzsche Archive in Weimar.
The Nietzsche Archive had seen its first serious crisis in the winter of 1896/97 when Elisabeth Foerster-Nietzsche wanted to win over Rudolf Steiner as publisher and dismiss Fritz Koegel. The subsequent negotiations with Steiner failed, however, as he expressed sharp criticism of Foerster-Nietzsche, which culminated in the assertion that Mrs. Foerster-Nietzsche was completely unqualified to judge "in all matters concerning the teachings of her brother".
Slight damage to edges, partly repaired; very rare.
